Prairie Style New Construction

When this family came to SG Home Builders, they weren’t just looking for a beautiful prairie-style home — they wanted a space designed for the present and prepared for the future. With the possibility of multi-family living in mind, we collaborated closely to create a layout that blends function, flexibility, and flawless style.

The result? A thoughtfully crafted three-level home connected by an elevator for effortless accessibility. The lower level is perfectly suited for an in-law arrangement, featuring a walk-out basement, a full kitchen, full bathroom, bedroom, gym, and a spacious family room — all with privacy and comfort in mind.

The main level greets you with stunning finish work, a warm mix of stained woods, and open, light-filled spaces. Another full bedroom with an ensuite bath ensures guests or family members feel right at home.

On the second level, the primary suite becomes a serene retreat, complete with luxurious finishes and ample space. Two additional private bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, provide the ultimate in comfort and convenience.

From the stucco and stone exterior to the inground pool, covered porch, and firepit, every detail of this home was designed for living well — today and for years to come.

Although we had built many homes before this one, this was the largest project we had ever taken on. At the time, we didn’t yet have an interior designer on staff, but working with the designer for this home was a turning point for us. The collaboration allowed us to focus on what we do best — building — instead of spending countless hours guiding design decisions. It was such a valuable experience that it directly inspired us to bring an interior designer in-house, and now we involve our design team early in every project.

This home also marked two firsts for SG Home Builders: our first pool and our first elevator. Tackling these new challenges — and pulling them off beautifully — gave us more than just a stunning addition to our portfolio. It gave us credibility, experience, and the confidence to take on even more ambitious projects.

Looking back, this home represents a milestone in our journey, not just for its beauty and functionality, but for how it helped shape the way we work today.

We were so fortunate to have had SG builders to complete our custom home. They were diligent and professional to work with. We especially valued their integrity and transparency throughout the whole process. SG has solid relationships with their trades people and it shows in the quality of work. Ryan was always available and easy to work with and Greg was extremely knowledgeable and creative with solutions. Although we hadn’t started our project with SG builders, we are so thankful they were the builders to complete our dream home that we love!
