Naperville Hangar

This custom-designed hangar project is more than just aircraft storage, it’s a refined, multi-use space that blends industrial function with elevated design. From the outset, our goal was to create a space that didn’t just house planes, but felt like an extension of home: a place to gather, entertain, and unwind.

Design was driven by clean lines, durable materials, and a warm, modern aesthetic. The entertainment lounge features a custom wood-slat accent wall behind the TV, flanked by matte black sconces for subtle contrast. The adjoining bar area includes flat-panel wood cabinetry that echoes the natural textures used throughout the space.

A standout feature is the dedicated golf simulator and media room, fully outfitted with acoustic wall panels, turf flooring, and blackout technology for a true immersive experience. A full guest bathroom completes the space with bold black-and-white tile, a floating vanity, and matte black fixtures, balancing modern style with function.

From start to finish, this project reflects a rare fusion of utility and design. It’s a hangar, yes. But it’s also a one-of-a-kind destination for entertainment, relaxation, and lifestyle. This was not just about building a space, it was about building a feeling.

Constructing this custom hangar was both a challenging and rewarding experience. The vision was ambitious: to create a structure that offered the scale and durability of a true hangar while delivering the finish and feel of a high-end residential space.

Throughout the build, we encountered several unexpected obstacles. Harsh weather conditions posed an early challenge, with much of the exterior work taking place during freezing temperatures and high winds. Tasks like pouring concrete and installing oversized doors required extra coordination and resilience from our team. Staying on schedule required constant communication, close coordination with trades, and flexibility at every turn.

The clients were deeply involved and highly detail-oriented, which challenged us to elevate every element of the build. From the finishes on the slat wall and flooring to the selection of fixtures, every decision was made with intention and care.

This was not a typical project. It was a chance to deliver something truly unique: a working hangar that feels like home. Despite the hurdles, we’re proud of what we accomplished and grateful for the trust placed in us to bring this one-of-a-kind space to life.
