Modern Hinsdale Multi-Generational Home

At the time this Hinsdale project was quite the challenge for us.  It has a lot of firsts in the home, including our first walk out basement, 11' ceilings in the basement and dramatically tall ceilings on the second floor.  We also knew that the clients had a specific taste in their minds for what the finishes should look like.  Luckily, they had done a tone of work upfront and our design team knocked this one out of the park.

The layout of this home was very thought out as well.  Most homes with a dramatic entrance lack a private space on the main floor.  We were able to fit an additional family room on the other side of the double fireplace and a private office.  Also, the powder bathroom was finished with a full shower and floor to ceiling tiles.  It is a stunner that you don't even need to see the other rooms to be blown away in.

When we look back on the history of SG Home Builders there are projects that we have done that changed the way we do business.  This was one of those projects.  We were challenged in design, timelines and with a difficult architectural plan to work with.  Hindsight being 20/20 this project wasn't so bad.  In fact we learned a lot and implemented a lot of processes and procedures into our company that allow us to thrive on our current and future projects.

Anytime we work in Hinsdale we know the level of detail and expectations from the client are going to be higher than the norm.  This project pushed our framers, drywall crew and trim installers with the custom baseboard and casing cove detail around the doors. Although this is seemingly a simple look the attention to detail has to be high.  The same can be said for the tile installation or cabinet details.  This home, simply put, required more attention to detail than any home we had done up to this point.

Ryan built our family home and it was a great experience from start to finish. From proactively identifying issues to communicating/engaging through the process, Ryan made sure we were taken care of. The real measure of integrity to me was when those inevitable little things come up as we settled in (and the house settled in too) and Ryan took care of them quickly and efficiently.
